Pulsed. Had hairline fracture. Had to return

Had to return these 203s. They had a crack or bad weld or were mismachined. Caused pulsation in brakes even on installation and noticeable from first ride in parking lot . Cleaning didn't help and even after a wear in period it still pulsed. there was visible uneven coloration around hairline fracture visible in photos . Return was accepted without complaint so I gave 2 stars.

Pros
  • Replacement rotor for Terratrike rover.
Cons
  • Heavy weight compared to other lightweight rotor options

Revainrating 5 out of 5

working well for my opinion

these did the trick for me. they appear to have more surface area then the fancier 203 disks. this should give more braking power.

Pros
  • Bike Brakes & Parts
Cons
  • May require additional modifications to work properly with some bikes

Revainrating 4 out of 5

They make some noise

Made noise with my new pads Betty Hough pitch. Until I got the cable adjusted just right. Little noise when braking. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Perfect
Cons
  • Heavy weight can reduce overall bike performance and handling

Revainrating 4 out of 5

good value on my review.

At first I was concerned about the narrow surface area of the braking surface. But now, after braking in, this rotor has good stopping power for moderate use. I have not used this rotor under conditions requiring prolonged and repeated downhill use.

Pros
  • The stainless steel material makes these brake rotors resistant to wear and tear, ensuring long-lasting use
Cons
  • May not be suitable for cross-country and lighter riding styles

Didn't receive enough rotor screws

Only received 11 screws and could not completely fasten both rotors. Rotors looked good overall, needed some cleaning as they had some sort of adhesive on them

Pros
  • Nice value. Easy to install.
Cons
  • Lacks brand recognition compared to other high-end rotor options

Revainrating 4 out of 5

does the job on my review.

they are nice rotors and seem to work well. they do say Avid on them which i find funny because I dont think you are getting two Avid rotors for $12, i love that they come with the bolts so its an all in one

Pros
  • These brake rotors are easy to clean and maintain, ensuring long-lasting use
Cons
  • Lack of celebrity endorsements and sponsorships compared to other high-end rotor brands

Excellent quality and value.

Finally! A realistic price for a pair of rotors! As others have mentioned, these are Avid HS-1 rotors. Perfect for anything but a weight weenie build. Get two rotors for about half the price of most single rotors. The two 160mm rotors I received were perfectly flat and included the bolts. Excellent! Packaging could have been a bit better(mine came in a zip top bag separated by tissue), but hey, the price can't be beat.

Pros
  • Easy to install: Equipped with 6 bolts, these brake rotors are easy to install on your bike
Cons
  • Limited durability and wear resistance compared to other high-end rotors

Great value: my feedback

Arrived as promised! Product appears to be great. The rotor was true and appears to be balanced. Installation was easy. Would buy again.

Pros
  • Increased durability
Cons
  • Heavy weight can limit agility and maneuverability on technical terrain

These were made by Avid, they're great!

These are great. They are sold as generics, but I can tell these were made by Avid, which is a great brand, so buy with confidence. Amazing price!

Pros
  • Durable: Made from high-quality stainless steel material, these brake rotors are extremely durable
Cons
  • Heavy weight can lead to increased wear and tear on brake pads and systems

A great deal for rotors!

These rotors are a very good deal! I was looking at other rotors that were nearly twice the price for one rotor. Two rotors for $13 is a bargain! These are Avid branded rotors, not generic. I bought two sets, one for a new build and one for an existing bike that needed new rotors. They work great and are easy to install.

Pros
  • Versatile: The set comes in 160mm, 180mm, and 203mm sizes, making it an ideal choice for all types of bikes
Cons
  • May not provide adequate braking power on extreme downhill descents

Good Quality Grey Market Avid HS1 Rotors

I ordered two pairs of rotors. Both were well made and completely flat, stamped with the Avid brand and the now discontinued HS1 model designation. After installing one set on a bike using BB7 brakes I noticed the pad contact area is about 2mm narrower than either Avid Roundagon or G2 Clean Sweep rotors. The HS1 rotors stop well with good modulation and are mostly quiet, however, I would recommend purchasing a G2 Clean Sweep for better stopping power and nearly equivalent cooling.

Pros
  • The rotor's stainless steel material ensures a smooth, consistent braking experience, preventing any brake squeal
Cons
  • May compromise overall bike stiffness and handling due to weight and design

Decent Quality, Easy Install

160 Avid rotors. They work fine with my Shimano brakes. Easy install with a torque wrench and some Brakleen. Definitely needed some serious pad bedding done when first installed but after a few cycles they started to function well even with the old pads. Should do the job fine on my 2nd set of wheels for swapping to off-road duty.

Pros
  • Smooth braking
Cons
  • Require frequent adjusting and tuning to maintain optimal performance

Avid brand rotors, missing 1 screw

They came as described and are branded as Avid. Came with 2 rotors and only 11 torx screws :/ so maybe quality control isn't quite there. That's why i only gave it 4 stars.

Pros
  • And they work as should. Installed them on a 2013 Giant Talon 5.0
Cons
  • Sharp edges can make it difficult to handle during installation

Stock up if you crash a lot.

Perfect. Somehow survived getting bent in transit as it was only in an envelope. Replaced some bashed up discs. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Like that you don't have to break the bank to stop right.
Cons
  • Make sure you look at your item they was not the size that I was supposed to have had

Warped out of the box! 203mm of pure junk!

Save your money and go elsewhere. I purchased the 203mm rotors is an upgrade. Unfortunately I was traveling at the time by the time I got back and installed the rotors. Giving them plenty of time to bed in hoping the pulsating would go away. My return window was too short. Now I'm stuck with some really crappy coasters. I'm going to buy a quality rotors going forward!

Pros
  • Improved safety
Cons
  • Lack of brand recognition among casual and recreational riders

Great Value: my feedback

Fits any bike with 6 bolt pattern. Make sure you buy the right size, mine is 160mm. These rotors are very light and come with a complete set of bolts. I found that it takes some break-in period for the pads and rotors to "mate", until that time the breaking will be slightly weak. If you're changing your rotors, it is probably a good idea to also install new pads as well.

Pros
  • Wide range of applications
Cons
  • Limited resistance to wear and tear from extreme riding conditions

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nicely made in my review

Using these as an upgrade for my Radrover 5. They arrived nice & straight with zero warpage. Can't comment on longevity but they went on great.

Pros
  • Rotors
Cons
  • May not provide adequate stopping power for larger riders or cargo loads

Revainrating 5 out of 5

So far so good for my opinion

I bought this in the 160 mm size to replace a warped one that came on a bike I purchased on eBay. It came with mounting screws and was a great swap replacement and so far it performs as expected.

Pros
  • Good for the money
Cons
  • Only come in three sizes, limiting compatibility with certain bike models

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just what I needed on my review.

I bought these to replace a bent (mangled) rotor on my son's Specialized mountain bike. They were easy to install and I only had to make very minor adjustments to the pads after install (they are a hair wider than the stock rotors). They look great, are stout, and have held up for several weeks now (and my son is hard on his stuff). Definitely recommend.

Pros
  • Improved heat dissipation: The stainless steel construction ensures better heat dissipation, preventing the brakes from overheating
Cons
  • Can be difficult to find replacement parts and components in certain areas

2 out of 4 were bad out of the box.

I was hoping to save a few bucks, but unfortunately, I haven't even been able to test these on the trail yet. I bought 2 pairs separately - one for each wheelset. One rotor out of each pair was bent/warped/not true right out of the package. I've spent all of my free time over the last couple weeks trying to adjust my calipers so these bent rotors don't rub. I haven't been able to ride and it's frustrating. I will just have to install my old 180's and return these. Don't skimp on brakes.

Pros
  • Maximum stopping power
Cons
  • Requires frequent maintenance and cleaning to prevent rust and corrosion
