The spring scale never comes into contact with the needle screw on my Singer 401. I will be returning this item, it does not live up to what it was advertised.

Bought on the 9th This does not work. It connects to Singer 403a fiber. However, this just doesn't work. Too bad I didn't read a review from 2019 that had the same problem. Now I'm over the moon because I can't contact the company and Amazon's return period has expired.

401 says it works but actually it doesn't work. It does not "bounce" when installed and thus does not allow the fabric to wander easily, but presses the foot down with the spring. The foot platform has been raised so feeding dogs there is not a problem. In addition, the transparent foot distorts the lines, making free motion quilting difficult when you need to follow a fabric pattern. Overall, I'm completely disappointed with the false claim that this works on 401s.
