SheaMoisture Ultra-Sensitive Healing Lotion: Fragrance-Free, Gluten-Free & Tear-Free (8 oz) Review

I love this brand of product and used to buy this lotion from a store for my newborn and it was great! It really didn't contain any flavors, it had the perfect consistency etc. However, the product I received when ordering online is not the same. The packaging is exactly the same, but the lotion has a fairly strong scent (not a bad scent, but not what I paid for). I've never encountered such a discrepancy with this brand, so I'm inclined to think maybe it's fake / because of the seller?

I love SheaMoisture products. This lotion is very thick and absorbs well into the skin without leaving a greasy feeling. I have used it on both myself and my child. My skin is often very dry and this lotion has moisturized and softened it. The lotion has a slight odor (as most "unflavored" products often have a slight odor), but it's not unpleasant. I'm not sure I just got a weird batch of this lotion but it comes out really thick. The consistency is not a problem for me, but the packaging is not at all suitable for the thickness. Getting out of the pipe is very difficult. But I will say that it moisturizes well. I'm not crazy about the smell. It's "odorless" but smells a bit like plastic (although I think that's often the case with unscented products). I have tried many unscented lotions on my baby. Some of them just smelled like chemicals or just plain unpleasant. It doesn't smell particularly strong, but it's very soft and unobtrusive. My kid had eczema and I used this fist thing in the morning and it was part of my bedtime routine and her eczema went away and never came back.
