I love these headphones

I love these headphones. I'm a drummer and use them for personal playing, concerts and in church. Two drives are great for my needs, I don't want to use a single drive for my needs. The number of tips it has is nice to have, it gives you options for a comfortable fit or the different locations you play. Fit and comfort are excellent. I found that initially they didn't pick up low frequencies, but as they got used to it and developed, they got better at picking up low frequencies. Really makes a

lack of bass: headphones

After all the rave reviews, I was looking forward to this one. I've never owned in-ear headphones so maybe it's just me, but I couldn't get almost any bass out of them. I've tried several earbuds of different sizes and types with it, but unless I force them into my ear canal there's no bass. Tried different types of music/songs. I was only able to get pretty decent bass when I hooked up my MP3 player through a FiiO A5 headphone amp with Output Boost and Bass Boost turned on. The bass was also…

Great sound quality, poor build quality

I bought them in December 2014 after upgrading after buying the SE215-K and SE315-K. The sound quality is excellent and a noticeable improvement over the previous two. But other reviewers have spoken about it. When I removed the earbuds from my ear yesterday, the plastic broke at the base of the sleeve where it connects to the main body. This happened a few months ago on the left. I was able to send it in for repair and expect to be able to do it again under the 2 year warranty. However, this…

Headphone Reference Tone

They fit my ears perfectly and are comfortable. While exercising or running, you may need a double or triple flanged tip. The sound is clear and amazing. The criticism of the lack of bass is exaggerated. Bass is NOT enough. If you have a good EQ, just adjust the bass to make it sound more V-shaped. Out of the box they are flatter and more accurate, being a product for professional musicians or audiophiles. They are not cloudy like bits. They are designed so that you can hear the details and all

I used to have Shure E3 headphones, but accidentally left them on the plane after my trip. :-(I quickly looked for replacements as I *always* use headphones. On the subway, on the bus, at home, on flights. Everywhere! Bought in the end. For comparison: - they sound great. I usually listen either straight from my laptop or from my phone When I use my phone I have preset a graphic equalizer to compensate for my phone's poor performance I was used to it from the E3 and it took me a while to get…

Great in-ear headphones for live performances!

I play bass at my church and they have Aviom in-ear monitoring systems. They have several pairs of SE315 single driver headphones and they aren't that bad, but they can sound a bit thin. My biggest annoyance was sharing monitors with other people, so I decided to get my own and upgrade to the next most powerful Shure model while I was at it. First, they won't hit your ears like Beats headphones do. These are very clear, detailed monitors. They have more bottom end than the SE315 models but are…

Excellent when used as directed

I was a musician for a while. I prefer Shure headphones. So a little understanding of the 425s...if you're looking for "headphones" that sound like you're in a club or rocking out in your car, these aren't for you. If you're looking for a so-called "reference" sound like audiophile or monitoring sound, then this is for you. Because they're balanced across the spectrum, they're crisp and clear without one frequency range being heavier than the other. I chose 425 for several reasons. While the…

Excellent sound and noise isolation

I don't consider myself a music lover, but I do consider myself a keen ear. The Shure SE425-V is the best I've ever paid for a set of earbuds and/or headphones, but here it is. The pieces fit snugly in your ear and with a little practice they seem to go in and fit very, I mean very comfortably, and for the first time I now have a pair of headphones that actually stay in place rather than falling out of my ear . while the hands are busy. I have read that you must be careful not to remove them by

The best headphones I've ever had

Amazing, very accurate sound from headphones. They have more realistic surround sound than the SE210s I've had before. Other headphones that emphasize bass or some other range make some music sound great and other music sound terrible. Thanks to them, any music sounds great. Some may complain of weak bass, but that's because they're used to "phones with over-the-top bass." The bass can be *almost* hit with the EQ settings on the player, but in most cases it sounds better without it. I've had…
