This device is excellent and performs as well as more expensive devices

This device is excellent and performs as well as more expensive devices. Comes with a driver DVD or you can download the latest driver from the IO Crest website. Provides 8 serial port termination cables with standard 9-pin connectors. The only minor downside is that the 8 shaft is a bit heavy in my opinion and should have some sort of stress relief. I wrapped the cable to the closet to make the multipoint connector easier. For the price, however, this is a great buy.

Pros
  • General purpose 16-bit timer/counter
Cons
  • Slightly shabby

Worth it for those who need lots of daisy chain connections

Works very well. Use this on a 2U server to connect to multiple other servers and UPS. I had some trouble getting it to work on Linux (Debian), but after some tweaking it worked. It's incredibly nice to be able to centralize the connection and be able to write your own code on that server to interact with the entire infrastructure. Mainly use this to provide SSH and easily send commands to multiple servers.

Pros
  • Sleep mode with wake up indicator
Cons
  • I'll add later

Failsafe on Windows 10

No problems with Windows 10. Plugged into a free graphics card slot (PCIe 16X). Manually installed the drivers from the CD for the Exar chip. This time the COM ports have been numbered in the correct order, according to the numbers stamped on the connectors. Worked with an application that collided with other boards.

Pros
  • Expansion Bus Interface
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
