🪝 Hook Silhouette Review

This weeding tool is terrible. I've always used the Cricut brand but when mine went missing I didn't want to pay money for a new one so I saw these and decided to give it a try. This weeding tool does not have enough points for my weeding. Very disappointed

I usually use toothpicks to pick my vinyl but decided to give these a try as they were designed for vinyl picking but are more valuable to the knitter. They are boring and make vinyl selection difficult and time consuming. I had to take a nail file and file the tip at an angle to get it sharp. After this modification, it also works the way I like it. When things get boring again I just use the nail file to adjust the sharpness and it works for me! Just select and move fast!

My husband owns and operates a professional vinyl cutting business. He complained that his hands gnawed at the protrusions on every metal dental instrument he used. (Dental tools are properly angled and have a sharp point that easily picks up the vinyl it's removing.) I was excited when I found this as it has a comfortable grip. Unfortunately it is useless. The tip is wider than a ballpoint pen and blunt. I sent it back the same day. We're still looking for a sharp tool that won't eat fingers…

This is the third Silhouette hook I've bought, only because I bent the first two out of shape to use them for purposes other than to use those for which they were intended. I am very disappointed with this last one I bought. The tip of the hook is very blunt making it difficult to pierce the vinyl so you can pull it out while weeding. This simple device saves nerves, time and nerves. I work with vinyl and some of the more subtle work drove me crazy.
