If the lid had snapped in place everything would have worked much better. Since this is not the case, the middle section rises to the top of the water table. You have to put a load on it, otherwise there will be a block of ice underneath.

After you fill it with water, which really needs to be added to the side (be careful as there isn't much room to pour water into the mold), it's very difficult to hold on to the lid as it doesn't screw down and the inside of the shape wants to push off as it floats in the water. It works, but it's GOOD.

Either something is missing or I don't understand how to use it. I have a silicone bucket and a white ice bucket. The only way to make ice cubes and not a block of ice is to pour a very small amount of water into a silicone bucket and push the white bucket in and then try to close the lid that won't stay down.

Terrible, don't waste your money! I just put a large chunk of ice in the middle compartment and the ice it makes is more like water shavings! Better to use something else, I originally bought it to save space in the freezer, not worth it! It became more trouble, the lid doesn't hold, you have to put something heavy on it.

I love the idea of this but when you add water you insert the cylinder and push it down and then put it on top after releasing it goes up up and so the cylinder and all the water goes down and there's a big piece of ice at the bottom all the time. Not what I expected

Lid, serious design flaw. The lid does not screw down, meaning water will push against the center insert and open the lid. Leaking water enters the center of the center tray or spills into the freezer. Of course you can get around this by getting creative hence 3 stars no less but they had to have a thread on the lid to unscrew it. Even if it were a simple quarter turn, that would do the trick.
