Pays off in the long run.

Pros: This PS (power supply) is efficient, quiet, cool, reliable and fully modular. I have owned this PS for over a year and it resides in the media center pc which is on all the time. So far it has worked great. Cons: No on/off switch. It's not entirely Silverstone's fault, but modular cables aren't interchangeable from one manufacturer to another. I tried using the Molex Silverstone modular cable in Themaltake PS and the computer complained loudly. A quick check showed that the pinout was…

Excellent power supply in internal power supplies

Very good power supply. If you are building a GPGPU (general purpose graphics processor/card - graphics cards can each run up to a few teraflops) supercomputer with a motherboard with multiple 16X PCI Express slots (commonly used for graphics cards) such as eVGA Classified 4-way SLI , then this power supply is for you. Easy to install, all cables are modular, more than enough to connect four graphics cards. If you do this, you will need one of Lian Li's 10-slot cases. Check the eVGA website for

excellent power supply best offer for extreme body shapes

excellent power supply; the best deal for extreme builds!. I did a lot of searching and digging before I bought this power supply; like the rest of my construction. Very happy with this power supply, the voltage does not drop even with extreme overclocking or gaming. can't even touch the limit of this thing most bought for SMART modders!. And a very, very quiet PSU won't hear it 90% of the time. _________________________________________________ Bottom line: the best for any extreme build like I

No problems yet (2009 - 2012)

Powers an overclocked i7 EE, 3 graphics cards, 8 fans, a large liquid cooling pump and 13 drives (a mix of HDD, SSD and optical drives) for 3 years. There were no problems. Lots of power options, but not enough Molex and SATA connectors for 13 drives, so splitters are needed. The cables are long enough to reach the extreme corners of the massive case. The hardest part is getting a UPS big enough to support this thing. The good news is that it handles blackouts/very short blackouts quite well. I

quiet little beast best in internals

Ok I had a burning desire to do some GPGPU cuda calculations. The setup I put together isn't the most advanced today, maybe it would have been half a year or so ago. With the exception of the case and power supply, most components drop in price in the first few months. Anyway, here is the setup: Cooler Master HAF 932 High Air Flow ATX Full Tower Black - (RC-932-KKN1-GP) SilverStone ATX12V/EPS12V 1000W Silver Modular PFC Power Supply ST1000-P (Black) MSI AM3 NVIDIA nForce ATX AMD Motherboard…

Great PSU but short warranty for the price

This PSU lasted me 4.5 years and probably 3 builds. It has just started giving me random blackouts, which is disappointing. I was hoping to live with it for a few more years as I've barely used it at 500 watts. Only 3 years guarantee. I've heard people ask why full modularity matters (why the required ATX connector is coming out), so I'll explain a few reasons why it helps me. You can purchase longer or shorter cable sets based on your needs. The cable management can be routed in all directions

Pros
  • Solid construction
Cons
  • I have no real complaints about it, everything is fine

while you grow strong

I needed a power supply small enough to fit in the Jonsbo UMX1 Plus case and still handle a long GPU. With a length of 140 mm and a fully modular housing, it is hardly possible. At first I was put off by the Bronze rating and the fact that I've never paid less than $100 to power my high-end devices, but after much searching I just couldn't find a power supply that did it (or better). ausseh was fully modular, 140mm long and whose online reviews haven't shown many DOA/Tot reports in (x) time…
