I was looking for a better than stock cooler for my second i5-4690. Technically, I didn't have a standard cooler, so I needed something better than the Pentium cooler I had. This seemed to fit the bill. It doesn't pass the Prime95 stress test, but it never gets that hot for my needs. The heatsink doesn't differ from Intel's standard solution in terms of cooling, but there are some problems. The fan shroud is not aligned properly enough to push or pull the heatsink pins to install them. It was not possible to rotate the shroud because the plastic clips did not line up with the notches on the cooling fins. Great fan and low profile that matches my case. It's quiet enough that I can't hear it. I'm using a Pentium chip and my temperature averages around 34C and under full load it never goes above 47C but ymmv. The screws are much better than standard Intel fans. There is a backplate that needs to be placed under your motherboard for everything to connect properly. Cons: The only problem I had was that my Asus motherboard had 2 capacitors so I had to trim 2 fins. This wasn't a big deal, but I advise
