It doesn't stay open. A decorative cover on the body of the tape keeps the button pressed no matter what I'm doing, and the tape snaps into place once I loosen it a little to try and measure something. Waste.

The perfect little tape measure to check just about anything I need measurements on! I just received a snazzy new cat carrier, entertainment center storage box, and vanity cabinet for a narrow bathroom. Plus it's beautiful, full of flowers and fits in my purse!

I've only had the tape measure for a few months and about a month ago I noticed it started peeling around the edges. I believe when it returns to the holder it cuts on something so now the entire edge of my tape measure is cut with pieces falling off. I wanted a retractable one so I could store it easily and it wouldn't break, but apparently that wasn't the case.

Probably the cutest tape measure I've ever owned. I use it to measure my body when I lose weight and it works great. I also use it in my crafts and such, which works great for that too. I had no problems at all with this roulette. The tape measure pulls out easily and once you hear a click it stays in place until you press the center button and it pulls the tape measure back into its housing. It's that easy to use. Love it.

Our daughter asked for a "fashionable" measuring tape that her great-aunt always carried with her. I was delighted to find in Simplicity a replica of what we were using in our day. I like it so much that I will buy it for myself. Please note that these are not only suitable for sewing, but also for carrying in your bag when shopping for clothes, furniture, appliances, etc. A beautiful, precise and nostalgic piece that I highly recommend!
