I wanted the switch to fit an ungrounded outlet. This switch fulfills this purpose/need by allowing the device to remain plugged into an outlet with power completely turned off by this switch. The need for this was due to the fact that the device does not have a built-in power switch. Satisfied with the quality and functionality.
