Small buttons work great on Nintendo joysticks, especially in Tetris 99, Pac-Man 99 or any game that requires precise FAST movement. Once attached, you barely have to move your thumb in one direction to press the button you want without accidentally pressing in the other direction. Love it, didn't have to modify the joycon or ruin the warranty. It works great though, the dpad has very little tactile feedback about where your finger is, it's curved so you can feel the center, but some ridges or grooves would be desirable. I rarely miss input, the only time I press the d-pad too hard is the input correct. I suspect that the specified pivot is not enough, if you try to double you will not stick to the button. For certain games I needed a Dpad for my normal switch. I was able to easily open my joycons and switch shells. The thing is, I don't have the luxury of buying and replacing my joycons if I screw them up, and I don't risk voiding my warranty. I don't trust myself enough to do that. If anyone wants to personalize their switch, they can be spray painted! Sand them down, use a primer and spray paint, this is my first time doing something like this and it was very easy. Goods just received, just bought for d-pads. The adhesive was easy enough to line up and stick the top and bottom D-Pad on the left joycon, once it's in the desired location just peel off the top. Each D-Pad has a black circle that needs to be pulled out and placed in the bottom center. Then make sure the arrow at the bottom of the d-pad is pointing up. Align the top cover of the directional pad with the top button and it should snap into place. The use of each dpad is different and convenient.

First off, these are just keycaps that attach with small 3M adhesive circles that are the same size as the joycon buttons. Sticking the glue circles onto the buttons wasn't too difficult. The problem I had was removing the top cover of these circles to expose the top adhesive (to actually attach the caps) without pulling the entire circle of adhesive away from the button, as it seems I didn't put the adhesive firmly enough on the button pressed.
