🏌️ SGX Golf GPS by SkyCaddie Review

I was not told before purchasing that I needed to purchase an additional item for the Sky Caddy to work. I was able to get footage for my local field within a month, but after a month of ownership all features were disabled. That's a lousy $250. investments.

Very dissatisfied with my Skycaddy SGX. He is 7 months old so 1 month has passed. It keeps showing an application error and telling me to close. Will not reset after a hard or soft reset. Skycaddies headquarters' decision was that I buy a new one. After my experience with Skycaddy I don't want that anymore!

It takes a computer genius to set it up. When I call Sky Caddy for help, it takes me 15-20 minutes to talk to a warm body. At this point, my SGX is only showing distance to the green. None of the other features are advertised. It's also a paid service, which I don't mind, but other related devices are free - even my phone. If I could return it I would.

The software update was extremely cumbersome at best and required the help of SkyCaddie technicians and I had some computer skills. Once this was done, the course update has been smooth so far. If the software needs a major update I will try to do so without much fear. I think the SGX is a perfect fit and have been happy with its performance on court for two months.

I like the new features and find it much better than the SG5 I had previously. My only issue is that the website isn't as user friendly as it could be. Sometimes it's difficult to change downloadable courses and I couldn't do it on my laptop on my last trip and I need to work with them to find out why. But that was the only thing keeping me from a 5 star rating.
