It's handy in mandolins & slicers

Not so much for cheese (too thick for my liking) but just right for spam. Just make sure you hold the loop so the wire mesh doesn't detach from the base.

Not recommended

This cutter has a very thin cutting wire and does not cut very tightly. Also, the plastic base would be difficult to clean. It doesn't cost any money.

Love Love Love this Slicer

For slicing eggs for salad. I have a small egg slicer, but I like this one much better. Cuts eggs slightly larger but much easier to peel. It's that easy.

Not intended for anything other than super soft food

I used to have a Cuisinart slicer and a Pampered Chef slicer. both will cut anything - olives, fruit, meat, etc. This thing has thick wires, so it will destroy anything small or hard. Strawberries, for example, cannot be cut cleanly. My olives were also destroyed trying to cut them. look elsewhere
