Description of ⌚ Garmin Fenix 5S Sapphire Wi-Fi Smartwatch in Black

The multisport GPS watch with built-in optical heart rate monitor is great for small hands, but doesn''t lose out on training and multi-sport features.

Everything about the product satisfied me, the price is perfect.

Garmin Fenix 5S is close to Forerunner 935 and offers a full range of features to the demanding user, packed in a "civilian" durable steel case. Garmin watches in the premium segment have a built-in NPR sensor. If the watch is not removed from the hand, a complete set of data for 24 hours is obtained - the duration of sleep, the pulse throughout the day, the number of steps taken. Navigation - in the watch you can download or create any track, and run in unfamiliar places where someone else…

Pros
  • Multisport watch for sports and everyday life. Great watch for runners. You can get a huge amount of data - depends on your creativity and training goals, what data you display (s) - there are fields for timer, distance, pace, speed, heart rate, running dynamics, cadence, temperature, altitude, compass data, navigation data and others (calories, battery level, GPS strength, laps, sunrise and sunset, barometric pressure). I especially liked the accuracy of the recording without GPS. For outdoor running there are, of course, running functions with GPS, but it is also possible to record all parameters (except for recording the track on the map) with the functions "treadmill" and "treadmill". In both cases, GPS is turned off and the watch works on the basis of the built-in accelerometer - the watch "guesses" the speed by the movements of the hand and the whole body. On my test "polygon", the difference between the distances with and without GPS was only 1.3%, the accuracy is high.
Cons
  • The built-in NPR sensor will work very well for tracking fitness functions, but for the training process, experienced trainers insist on using a chest NPR sensor. This is a more reliable way to track a key metric. The sensor on the hand did sometimes get "strange" numbers, especially in severe frost, when the pulse soared at a calm pace. I didn’t find any particular shortcomings, of course, when directly compared with the more modern (and more expensive) Fenix 5X, some amenities are missing, such as maps for navigation or Garmin Pay.

I wear the watch all the time and don't like to take it off, so I like its versatility, it's suitable for both sports and everyday wear

Pros
  • A full version of the Garmin Fenix 5 in a more versatile case and, most importantly, with a narrower strap, which means that it does not interfere when working with a barbell, and when pushing up, working with kettlebells (wherever a strong bend of the hand is needed, a thick strap usually interferes or the projectile flies for hours) Convenient change of straps, although there is a black option for all occasions. Sapphire crystal allows you to no longer think about protecting your watch. Full-fledged work without a chest strap, again, it saves during intensive classes.
Cons
  • They are heavier than the regular Polar options. Pretty weird phone software. Not all watch functions can be configured from the app or the Web, for example, sports profiles can be done faster on the watch itself. No NFC and, accordingly, payments. But for now, you can’t call them - the phone is always there, and everything is already there.

Perfect product for any user!

Quality item. Never regretted the purchase. Life hack: for Tinkoff Bank cards there is an increased cashback for the official Garmin store. A good discount of 3800. Pros: Great watch for sports and everyday use. The charge is excellent. The glass is really wear-resistant: it hit rocks a couple of times - without a trace. Convenient control when running or cycling. The best software I've ever tried. Cons: - sometimes the backlight of the display does not work when exercising at night - the…
