Excellent purchase! on Skullies & Beanies

I bought this beanie because I'm hiking and need something for the winter. I have used this product in the cold and love it. Also, it's merino wool, so it's breathable. I'm glad I made this purchase.

Pros
  • APPAREL WEIGHT: 50 g = 1.76 oz, FABRIC WEIGHT: 250 g/m2
Cons
  • Functionality

Warm and comfortable hat.

Beautiful appearance, great fit, well tailored, warm and comfortable. It's also reversible, which is a plus. Smartwool is slightly more expensive than comparable products from other manufacturers, but the high quality justifies the price.

Pros
  • Excellent overall features
Cons

Comfortable and covers the ears well when needed

I bought this after reading that Smartwool doesn't itch. No, that is not so! I wore them with the cuffs on in moderately cold weather and then unzipped them as a layer under the hood when it got really cold. It was long enough to cover my ears well without being obtrusive. I couldn't wear it reversible as there is a tag sticking out and I doubt it can be safely cut off. But I would buy it if it wasn't reversible, so no big deal. Great hat! Nice color.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • High price

Great for trail running

I've used this for trail running in cooler weather and I like that it's warm but not itchy. It sits well on my head and has plenty of extra fabric to pull over my ears or cuff on if needed. I have other Smartwool products that I love so I bought this one and am happy with my purchase. The price is a bit higher than what I usually pay for a hat, but I was willing to pay more for this brand. In general I am satisfied. I just hope I don't lose it like I have so many other hats.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Has quirks

Super comfy stylish look, I switched to Smartwool merino wool!

I just started wearing merino wool for outdoor activities this year and Smartwool is one of the best brands I rely on (alongside Icebreaker). This particular hat is great for wearing outdoors in the 20-40 degrees Fahrenheit here in Michigan through November and December (at the time of writing this article), both in daily life and while hiking and even jogging. It is very comfortable, looks good, keeps your ears warm, absorbs sweat and is easy to wash and dry in the sink. We'll see what happens

Pros
  • An absolute legend
