🚴 Stay Protected on the Trails with the Smith Engage MIPS Mountain Bike Helmet Review

Love this helmet. It fits well and doesn't feel like it's pressing against my temple. I like that it's durable when I'm wearing it because it means my head is protected while I ride.

This helmet fits perfectly. I'm usually on the border between large and medium. And this big one came up to me. It's a bit lower so it sits low over the browbones, but it took a bit of getting used to compared to my previous Giro. The straps are also quite long. Like the helmet.

Protects my head with MIPS technology and looks great. I can't ask for more from a bike helmet. It's comfortable and has a nice matte black finish. Easily adjustable rear wheel for the perfect fit. I tried several helmets before finding one that met all my needs and that was it.

Tried another slightly cheaper helmet but had minimal padding and no height adjustment. This helmet has a good fit and is easily adjustable in height. The back cover is also much better than my previous helmet. The only downside is that the straps slip. Not sure if they are slippery or if the buckle just doesn't hold them tight enough.

This helmet (medium) fits me perfectly. Adjustments are easy and enjoyable. The white is excellent, almost a dull bright white, visible but not attractive to insects. I don't think it's too warm. This is mainly due to the low cost of the MIPS helmet. My other helmet is just outdated and maybe for brain protection I shouldn't be cheap but many MIPS helmets are over $200.

I saw this helmet at REI but it wasn't the color I wanted. I looked for it online and found it on Revain and the seller had the same price so I made the purchase. The helmet is quite fashionable and the white is very striking. The only downside is that it's warmer than I expected. I got this helmet thinking it would be cooler than my Thousand helmet, but it's only marginally cooler. However, I am happy with my purchase.

My only complaint is Smith Optics website for this helmet. On the page there is a link "Evacuation by air". Clicking this link will take you to the Air Evac, MIPS and Koroyd product page. Because of this, I thought this helmet had all three qualities. It has no Koroyid layer. It only has MIPS and Air Evac functions. Still a well fitting helmet. I would have ordered a model with Koroyd protection if I had known it wasn't available.
