fast burn but nice crackle

I use them in soy wax candles (464 I think) so I use two wicks on a stand as recommended. I had no trouble lighting them up like the others. They burn faster than traditional waxed wicks, even after being soaked in oil or coated with wax, which is unfortunate. But when they burn they make a pleasant, if rather faint, crackle - that's why we bought them, so we were pleased. I'm not sure we'll get them again though, as you actually (pun intended) burn through them, which comes with the doubling…

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Too long to wait

Perfection!

I was worried about how this wick would work because so many people said the wick went out right away and didn't burn well, but I figured I'd try it anyway and see for myself! I'm happy to report that these wicks burn beautifully! I used two of these together, dipped them in the melted wax I used for my candles, allowed them to cool, then poured the wax after centering the wicks the way I wanted them! I let this candle burn out for 15 minutes just to see how it held up. The flame never went out

If you don't soak them then

If you don't soak them you only have yourself to blame. I did a quick test from the same tree. Part, part was lit with nothing and the other was pre-soaked in my favorite aroma oil. I just keep a small sealed container of wicks to soak and let dry before throwing in the candle. I've found that you can sometimes get away with pre-soaking with wood wicks depending on the type of wax used, but you'll definitely get better flames and more cracking with pre-soaking. I posted a picture with a simple…

Pros
  • Arts, Crafts and Sewing
Cons
  • The packaging is ugly

First, reviews of candles full of flower petals, herbs, spices, etc. say that the wicks don't burn properly because they are inside candles , there should be no solids present. They clog the wick and prevent it from burning properly. Use these items in soap, not candles. #2- one wick = 1-2 inch wax melter diameter. If you put a wooden wick in a 3 inch candle you will end up with a 2 inch puddle of wax in the center and the sides won't melt. Candle Science 101. The size of the wicks should match

Pros
  • Making candles
Cons
  • There are doubts
