They are amazing. I only use the fleece on top as extra bedding but they provide enough cushioning on their own and my piglet still likes to dig under the covers to get to the bedding. Excellent odor and moisture absorption; all I feel in my piglets' cells is their hay.

The idea behind this product is mostly great but the smell started about 2 days after I put it in the guinea pig cage. I was able to get rid of the smell by washing it regularly with vinegar and dish soap and repeating the rinse cycle. I'm afraid it might wear them down sooner but the smell HAD to go away.

I use these mats for my two guinea pigs (on the left side of the cage in my photos). I love them so much I'm buying MORE! They are really well made. I use them with pads from another brand and I like them better (so I buy more just to use this brand). They are thicker, stronger and more durable. They are also very absorbent.

I was happy to try an easier method of cleaning up after my guinea pigs. Although it was much easier, the problem arose when I was washing the pads. I came out with holes and both smelled strongly of ammonia. I'm ordering more from another seller to see if there's a difference but they haven't arrived yet. As it stands I cannot recommend this brand. I will consider new ones after use and washing but they are from a different brand.
