If I could start them on zero I would. There is no padding. Not sure what others consider padding, but I seriously feel the pebbles on the road. *Update: These shoes only occasionally lasted about 5 months before eventually falling apart. They were very comfortable for walking, but they definitely won't last long like a pair of good famous brand running shoes. Still great for those looking for lightweight walking comfort who may struggle to find comfortable shoes but not recommended for running or exercising as it will break them. I love these shoes. I bought these shoes hoping they would last until I had time to go to the shoe store (horrible task). and since I'm on my feet all day, I can't wear clunky, heavy shoes that don't allow my feet to expand.
