I read some comment arguing that this fire starter doesn't hold the fuel. After a month of playing with this artifact for days, I can refute such an opinion. This lighter continues starting a fire even after two weeks since its charging, something that Z garbage cannot. Two of them: recommended.

I really have nothing bad to say about it. Does what it's supposed to do. Works great and pleased to have it on my keychain. The striker will eventually wear down but I can always get one years down the road. I would recommend this to anyone. Works when the bic is cold or wet and hasn't let me down yet.

I really really don’t like leaving bad reviews, but these lighters just didn’t work! They spark really well but that’s about it. I tried getting these to work for 3 weeks before deciding to post this review.They look exactly like the picture, they seem to be well made, handy enough to have as a key ring but they don’t work. I had such high hopes for these because they would be so handy for all of our outdoor adventures but unfortunately they could never ignite actual fire.

The wick tends to degrade far more quickly than I'd like, but as a survival/camping firestarter, it'll serve you well even without fuel. Much easier to get strong sparking than most magnesium strikers I've tried. When the fuel and wick are fresh, it's a brilliant flame.

This was difficult to break in, in the process i broke the steel, and damaged the tube it rides in. nice concept just needs a bit of reinforcement, as-is it's of limited utility.

Wicks don’t last as long as you’d hope, but the design holds a good seal on the lighter fluid to prevent evaporation over several months

I filled it with lighter fluid and let the wick soak a bit then tried it and it lit on the second try which was merely me figuring out how to strike it properly. Easy to use, super compact. I got it as an emergency preparedness item and I believe it will serve its purpose wonderfully.

As you can see from the picture, when changing the wick it snapped off. I'm astounded how cheap this was. That's my feedback.

The striking steel isnt sharp enough to give good spark and has little teeth which leaves you striking and striking removing the material which will eventually run out. Loaned these to two eager teenagers on a rainy camping trip. They still work perfectly and we were never without a fire. Purchased as a back up, but were surprisingly effective as the primary fire starter.

Could not figure out how to use it for the life of me. That's my feedback. And why is thickness an important quality that needs to be rated?

This thing is a novelty item, it's not actually useful. It's extremely heavy for what it is for starters. Secondly, once you light the match, the flame ends up being 4+ inches and burns off the very limited amount of fuel in the wick within 5 seconds and burns out the wick. it's also impossible to fill without overflowing it.It just can't regulate the burn rate to last. If they could fix that and give you a longer lasting .5" flame, it would be very cool.

So light weight it’s not there. Got the delivery notification today that item delivered. Awesome, wasn’t expecting it until after Christmas. At least the extra wicks are there. Hopefully amazon can right this, but my fingers aren’t crossed as according to their records the item was delivered.
