🔌 Enhanced Sonoff TH16 WiFi Smart Switch: Temperature and Humidity Monitor for DIY Smart Home, Alexa Compatible (16A) Review

Works great so far. There are no instructions but they are available online. Works exactly as advertised. Use it to control a fan in a wiring closet. Set it to turn on at one temperature and turn off at another. The app works fine. Easy to combine. Works automatically from anywhere. Good log when something turns off and on. A large. The only thing it can improve on is the inclusion of Homekit.

Looked ok and worked at least until firmware update 3.3. Very slow to update and now useless for humidity control. Seems to only update every 5 minutes. I contacted support and they said they are working on it. Why release a firmware update without testing? Humidity can drop 15% in 5 minutes and still not change at the sensor. Terrible product that doesn't do what it's supposed to. Bad programming.

Both the product description and the packaging clearly state that a temperature/humidity sensor is included. It is not. I have no idea how well this block works or doesn't work, but I'm justifiably mad at having to place a second order and have to pay almost as much as the block for the damn probe that should either be included or very clear stated was separate purchase. I thought the TH16 had failed while I was abroad. In fact I left a built in thermostat in the line which cut the power as intended. When I came back the TH16 was working really well. I use an EasyHeat 2102 thermistor heating cable to keep the pipes from freezing. The thermistor process reduces resistance as the temperature drops, which in theory saves energy. Bought to control something for temperature and time but while the TH16 can do that it can't be programmed to do both at the same time. I had to turn something on at a programmed time and turn it off again at a different time. It will, but also a smart outlet. And also. While it's on, I need it to use the temperature control feature to turn the device on and maintain a constant temperature.
