Fastest Memory Card Reader Read Speed

Just received this item. I mainly use it to copy 4k files from a Lexar 1667x (uhs II) SD card and get read speeds of around 235Mbps. Exactly what I was looking for. Pros: Small form factor, fast read speed, trusted brand. Cons: No micro SD card option, inadequate design when it comes to lid/cap that is easy to lose, quite expensive.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Suitable

Works fast as advertised. Beware of pocket fluff, however.

Great reader, very fast speed using my Sony UHS-2 cards. But there is no dust cover to open the card. He collected pocket lint that wrapped around the contacts inside. I destroyed it trying to get the lint out because the contacts came out with the lint. Don't carry it in your pocket! I'll order another one, but I'll heed my own warning about carrying it in my pocket.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Great little adapter for UHS-II cards. speeds are fast.

Works as expected most of the time. Sometimes the writing speed is slower than expected, but that may be due to the card. I ran a speed test using a Black Magic Disk Speed Test App. Two cards tested: Sony M-Series 128GB UHS-II SDXC (R: 260MB/s, W: 100MB/s) and Lexar 64GB UHS-II SDXC (1000x/150MB/s) Sony: 80 reads/ Write 222, Lexar: read 63 / write 139 In addition, SD cards are easy to insert and remove and close securely enough.

Doesn't look trendy but it works!

It looks like a very basic reader that shouldn't cost more than $10 so I was a bit skeptical but decided to give it a try since it's UHS -II says on USB 3.0 speed. It's a little pricey, but it works! This is the only reader I've ever been able to consistently read and write at 300MB/s on a 300MB/s SDXC card! I've tried other fancy readers but they all seem to be at 95MB/s. Being so small is an added bonus! I will order another one.

  • So far so good

Overpriced, too big, but fast UHS-II transmission

First, it works as advertised. It takes full advantage of the transfer speeds of your expensive UHS-II SD cards. I don't like its large shape, nor the detachable lid that's easy to lose. The reader takes up too much space around the USB port on the computer. The LED lamp is very dim and difficult to see. I expect Sony to do better, but if you're looking for a handheld reader that makes good use of your cards, this is for you.

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Contact seller

Intermittent

I'm getting mixed results with this card reader. In one of the onboard slots on my motherboard (Asus Zenith ROG Extreme), it reads no faster than 30MB/s. In other slots, it reads 120MB/s from the same Sandisk 100x UHS-11 card. My Lexar XQD reader uses about 250 MB/s in each of these slots. This is copying raw files from a Nikon D500 to a half empty Samsung EVO 970. I've tried playing around with the drivers but this is the only device that doesn't work. don't behave as expected. In the right…

Much better than plug and play

If plug and play was ever a misnomer, it applies to digital cameras. the worst. You now have an MRW-S1. It's such a fast reader that greatly affects my quality of life. It's small enough to take with you on the go, which is ideal for vacations. Also, I can now charge batteries for my RX1RII (if you have that camera, you know it eats batteries like crazy) and GRII while transferring files. Build quality is excellent, as with most Sony products, and the lid snaps into place with a satisfying…

Bought in April. He died at the end of June.

I have two PCs. I have 4 new Sony A7RIIIs and 2 very expensive Sony Tough 64GB G V90 UII cards for my professional photography business. I have a PC with TR4 Thread Ripper AMD USB 3.0 3.1 Gigabyte x399 1920X Win 10 Pro system with more hardware than I want to discuss here. I bought this card reader and cards together to take advantage of local transfer speeds when I couldn't connect my system. One of the hard drives slowed down the write speed to the interface speed - and the Sony card reader…

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

FAST. QUICKLY. QUICKLY! I switched to the latest Sony G-series SD cards from SanDisk for my Fujifilm X-T2 camera because they are faster and slightly cheaper. After finally replacing my iMac with a recent model, I bought this and a similar size and format Kingston Memory brand reader as the iMac's SD reader is in an awkward spot on the back of the unit. Of course, you'll need UHS-II cards and USB 3 or higher ports to take full advantage of this reader, but once you do, you'll never go back. It…
