Good product ! The Best in Computers & Accessories

This is an amazing product for mobile laptop users. I carried around a 6-in-1 external media reader that took up little space in my bag. This PC card adapter is slim and fits easily in your pocket. I popped it into the available PC Card (aka PCMCIA) slot in my XP laptop and it installed and read the files on my card instantly. (Although it recommended a reboot to work, I didn't need it.) I was concerned that it would only read Sony memory cards, but it has no problem reading Lexar. The file…

Use your memory card like a hundred floppy disks!

I need a rewritable medium that 1) is as easy to use as a floppy disk and 2) can store as much information (if not more) as a CD - RW (Rewritable CD). I found my solution with this Sony PC Card to Memory Card Adapter. This adapter, which fits in my PC bay (which most laptops have), allows me to insert and remove a memory card like a floppy disk. Disc. (Imagine if you had a Memory Stick reader built into your laptop, and you'll get the idea.) Memory Stick is also a lot more convenient (and…

Simplicity. good for computer accessories and peripherals

I've had USB card readers and 3.5" floppy drives (mostly card readers for the rapidly disappearing A: drives), and I've found that both types can be picky. The former require a software install and reboot, while the latter require hard drive A: and fresh watch batteries to function. The PCMCIA card, on the other hand, is really no problem. It requires no software or batteries. Insert your camera's memory card into the slot on the edge of the PCMCIA card, then insert the whole thing into your…

Works great but somewhat limited

I bought this card because I have a stash of old memory cards and wanted to use them to play MP3s in my '08 Honda Civic. 8th Generation Civics with Navigation use a PCMCIA card slot for reading media. The good news is that it connects and works really well. The bad news is that it only works really well with older memory sticks of 128MB or less. I was really hoping to use my 2 and 4GB sticks but found they wouldn't work. Luckily I also had a stack of old 128MB memory cards. It's a shame to keep

Pros
  • Useful for more than intended purpose
Cons
  • Expensive
