This thing is SUPER! - Spare parts and accessories for solar and wind energy

Exactly what I needed! Shipping was fast and the (heavy) package arrived intact (HORRA!). Our Whisperwatt generator has a CS-63 50A California style outlet. I wanted a "spider" with a plug (of the opposite sex). It was the ticket! That way I can just use a straight CS-63 50A cable. Finding something with CS-63 connectors is no easy feat, so thanks to Southwire for that! I really like that it has a CS-63 pass-through connector so more than one of them can be connected together. I also like the…

The first was dead, the second was perfect.

First of all, this is a super powerful device with a surprisingly compact size. Does what it's supposed to do and I have a feeling it will last a long time. The wiring inside is neat and well laid out. Now for the bad. The first device I ordered had three dead GFIs. Checked with a meter and had power in all the right places, but 3 of the 6 GFIs were defective so only 3 of the 6 20 amp outlets had power. It comes with a checklist listing all tested and working components. The first device was…

The idea is fantastic but the execution is lacking

Used a junction box for my RV. Plugging a 50 amp RV plug into six 120 volt 20 amp outlets AND a 30 amp 240 outlet was cool, not to mention my RV used a 50 amp pass-through plug. It seems that victory is victory. HOWEVER, I have a Samsung dryer in a shed next to my RV (a temporary home while I build my house). We had to power the dryer from a Southwire box. I bought a 30 amp extension cord and tried plugging the hair dryer into the cord. However, the 50 amp GFCI popped out on the temporary power

Temporary power is good for solar and wind

As an electrical contractor I have been making temporary panels for many years and it is always a challenge to ensure enough power for everyone at work. They're not cheap, but they're not well-made temporary plates either. I like that they are easy to download and move. I think they are well built and will last quite a while even if abused by rough workers. My only concern is that when used as a temporary panel, the outlet covers will not weatherproof in use. Electrical regulations are very…

Well-built, durable PDU.

As a radio amateur occasionally required to work in the field following a natural disaster to assist in communications for local, state and/or federal agencies, often using generator power as normal utilities have turned off this power Junction box ideal for power distribution for different functions. It's well built and its Nema 3R rating allows it to be used in the rain. be installed in the block instead of the L6-30 socket. This provides more flexibility when connecting other 125/250V…
