Chrome Plating Disrupted Heat Absorption

Based on my observations, this product's chrome plating disrupted the heat absorption resulting in overheating of the engine. The pros may include the aesthetic appeal of the chrome, but the cons outweigh it as it affects the engine performance and longevity. As an automotive enthusiast, I would not recommend this product for performance cars. .

Switched from cheap cast aluminum, works great

Sealed a Pontiac thermostat that was unsealed with cheap cast aluminum housings. I was hoping it would be steel but the zinc alloy feels nice enough and the base is thick enough after 1000 miles and is still holding up and I wouldn't have lasted a week with a paper gasket.
