🔧 Spectre Performance 585 Valve Cover Gasket – Steel and Rubber Reinforced for Enhanced Durability Review

Fitted this to a 66 C10 engine and had no trouble other than threading the bolts through the valve covers and then screwing them on which made the job a lot easier. Vehicle: 1953 Chevy Belair.

Overall happy with it. I have used them on a Chevy 350 marine engine and after 3 months of use I still have no leaks. Even better I have reused these shims at least 3 times for cam timing and due to the rubber construction they hold.

I have a stock Chevy cast iron block with aluminum rocker covers. I had to file the corners of the gaskets to ensure a tight fit. If I didn't do this, the valve cover would press against the edge of the gasket, making it a poor seal. These pads are well made but I feel there is too much extra rubber on the corners. Filed a bit and then pressed into place, cap tightened, they appear to be working as there are no leaks.
