I bought these wide shoes for my son's preschool graduation and they were perfect for the occasion. They are ideal for a semi-formal event. He has never complained about having his toes pinched and was able to attend the ceremony, post-ceremony photos and family reunion after the event. The only thing I noticed is that the shoe doesn't have as much flex as running shoes. They are obviously not suitable for playing or relaxing.

I would not recommend this product. I bought a pair for my nine year old son. Once he put them on and the sole began to tear. I sent them back and received another pair of the same shoes thinking it was just a bad pair. My oldest son wore these shoes for years when he was younger. Received this because Sperry is a good and respected brand and my children's school requires Dirty Buck Suede shoes. However, after a month of use, I noticed that the sole was starting to wear out. After 6 months of use the soles were almost completely gone and the laces were in terrible shape. I ended up buying Academie's signature pair of Dirty Buck Suedes, which turned out to be much stronger and more durable (the soles are much stiffer, firmer, and don't foam like Sperry's).
