The gold foil on this item is peeling off. I know it's a stainless steel spoon but I would have thought they actually dipped it in some kind of quality coating. You get what you pay for. I hope that there will be no problems with the heat supply.

I just love this melting spoon. It's a sturdy tool and the wooden handle doesn't get hot when melting sealing wax. The spout makes it easy to pour a neat round puddle for your seal. Another benefit of using a spoon over wick sticks is that you get pure color with no soot to ruin the print. Very well done, my Victorian soul rejoices every time I use it.

Finally got the spoon out to make the wax seal. He heated the wax and poured it out neatly. I used a paper towel to wipe the excess wax off the spoon and boom, the spoon handle broke off. I literally couldn't apply any less pressure. This indicates a very cheap processing. For $8.99 I was expecting more than 1 use and since I waited a while to use it for the first time the return window has of course expired. :(

I am very happy with my purchase. The previous wax melting spoons I've bought were warped and warped after the first use, and many of them were too hot to hold long, even on a plastic handle. It doesn't have this problem. The handle is made of wood and the spoon is strong, so it will not deform or bend when heated. The spoon is also a good size and can hold 3 to 4 wax stars that you can get for stamping. I would recommend this product over many others I have tried in the past.
