Compact and works well.

I really like this slicer. This will make it much easier to get even slices of cheese. Haven't tried it with anything other than cheese, but I think it would be good for all sorts of things. Stainless steel makes cleaning easier and looks beautiful in the kitchen. He came with a sharpener.

Doesn't work well with hard cheese

The product we received had a chip on the cutting surface of the blade and a slight bend. I could straighten the blade. This cheese cutter works well with soft cheeses, but not hard cheeses like a 2-pound block of cheddar. The blade bends and cuts crookedly. Getting a straight cut is almost impossible.
