Could be better. - my new review

The screws for it are very cheap & snapped repeatedly. The magnetism isn’t bad but nothing great. Still gonna use them but have to buy new screws for them

Pros
  • The closures are a great investment for those looking to upgrade their cabinetry or furniture on a budget
Cons
  • May require professional installation to work properly

A lot better than roller-type latches

I've been installing these on kitchen cabinet doors where the old hinges have lost their ability to keep the doors closed. At first, I was concerned that they would not hold well enough if installed in one direction, and too well in the other. What I've found is once I get the contact placement just right, the hold is too.I'm sort-of handy around the house (more-so than my husband.) and know my way around a drill. This is good as users will have to pre-drill pilot holes to place this hardware…

Pros
  • The closures are easy to install with minimal tools required
Cons
  • May be prone to breaking if not properly installed

Screws snapped off during installation

However, the screw heads snapped clean off while I was screwing them in (by hand, not using a power driver or anything). There were no instructions to follow, but I knew enough to pre-drill pilot holes for the screws—this didn't seem to help, unfortunately.

Pros
  • Old fingers make them not too easy to hold. Outside of that, they keep the closet doors closed!
Cons
  • May be too bulky and take up too much space

Attractive quality product

LIKES:PackagingAttractive finishCompact size does not protrude much into cabinet openingQuality workmanshipBetter than average attention to detailAREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT:Would be okay if the magnets were a tad stronger but they are all workingNice product I will happily recommendFar above average care in packaging and appearance

Pros
  • Powerful Magnetic Force: Each mount houses a single magnet with strong force that holds the plantation shutter, cabinet door, drawer, lid securely closed. Good for using on the door which the latch or hinge is useless. Also perfect for keeping your little pet from break into your cabinet for fun.
Cons
  • May not be compatible with older cabinets or drawers

included hardware pretty much trash

Catches seem to be acceptable. But the screws that came with are non-magnetic mystery-metal and apparently intended to use some nonstandard size phillips head. They definitely needed pilot holes. Fortunately plenty were included and I didn't intend to use them on the metal-plate side, but it's saying something when a compulsive hardware-hoarder throws away the remaining screws.

Pros
  • The magnetic force holds doors and drawers closed securely to prevent spills or accidents
Cons
  • May not work well with cabinets or drawers that are out of alignment

Great but note your shelf to door depth

I found the design nice an compact. The magnets seems great. The only thing that hurt the success in my application is the distance from the door to the anchor point on the shelf. The place where the magnet had to be was too deep and they wouldn’t secure the cabinet door as they couldn’t make contact. I returned the item.

Pros
  • Well-made: Elliptical slotted screw holes also help to adjust the location to align the steel plate with the magnet piece. These furniture magnetic latches come with stainless steel mounting screws. You don't need to worry about the screw that will easily break during the installation process again.
Cons
  • May not hold up to repeated use over extended periods of time

Looks great but doesn’t perform well

I wanted to check these out because they look cool. Somehow magnetic force isn’t very strong. I made sure it was at full contact too.Installation was actually difficult. Maybe my fingers are too fat. Those little screws man, you better not drop one!

Pros
  • just what I needed to latch the doors
Cons
  • May be too small to hold larger cabinet doors

Strong Magnets for my opinion

I bought these primarily to keep my cats from digging in my cabinets. They work great, my cats are not able to pry open the cabinets like they have with safety latches and other weaker magnets. The only issue I ran into was during the installation. A couple of the small magnets broke off mid-installation so I had to move the magnet several times. I did not anticipate the need for digging them out and putting wood filler in for them to be uniform to the other magnets.

Pros
  • The strong magnetic force ensures that doors and drawers do not open easily during earthquakes or tremors
Cons
  • May not work well with cabinets or drawers that have a non-standard size or shape
