Great Simple Tent: Outdoor Recreation

I really like this item. I can set it up in about 10 minutes and it weighs nothing. The posts are very cheap and only lasted a couple of uses on me before they buckled from the rocky ground, but the best replacements are affordable. It's not waterproof so you'll need a tarp if you're sleeping in a wet area. I slept through two showers without a tarp and although water got in it wasn't too bad. It's very small, so more of a sleeping pod than a portable space like some tents are. I found aโ€ฆ

Suitable for occasional use

Very upset with this review. I took it on a 2 day AT hike and it rained all night. It was light and small in my backpack, which is why I got stars for it. It was easy to set up. Not a crazy number when parts of so many tents. He lost the stars because tiny puddles of water formed on the ground from condensation. Other reviews weren't kidding - it gets wet from the humidity and I REALLY had the shutters open. It's super tight too. You can't sit in a tent or anything. When I woke up the wallsโ€ฆ

Amazing tent at a great price

I checked out this tent on a recent primitive hike with friends. I was quite impressed with it and couldn't believe it worked so well for the price I paid. It was actually quite roomy inside, there's a strap holding the entry flaps to let in some air, and the mesh did an excellent job of keeping all the ants (red ants, big black ants, and small black ants) out. Nothing was done inside.except. The only problem I found was that the base material was leaking from some of the thorny plantsโ€ฆ

Best Outdoor Tent

Best 4lb tent we could find for the money. Thank you for designing an ultra-lightweight tent for those who cannot afford REI tents. I've read that even REI tents don't always stand up to the rain. But I always take a waterproof tarpaulin with me. We are pitching a tent on the sandy beach so we had to put rocks on each tent pole. This made the tent very stable. With this little camping tent we were warm and hot as nights reached the low 40's, even with the windows and doors open to preventโ€ฆ

The best return on your money!

Definitely a bargain for the price. Came out and used it last weekend in the Idyllwild Mountains of Southern California. That night it was about 32*, average early morning wind. I was absolutely amazed at how durable the tent was. I tied all the new knots and went out and bought some strong tent poles and that seemed to help. The tent stood in the wind all night. I'm 6,250 and I fit in there pretty well. A bit narrow to get in and out of due to the puppy style post right at the entrance but itโ€ฆ

For the price you can't go wrong

This tent folds up and is fairly light and compact, but once assembled there is enough room for a kit or more. I'm 6ft 4in and if I stretched out my head and feet could touch the two outermost bars. Hit those bars hard and I could imagine it falling on you in the middle of the night. In general I am very satisfied. For less than $30 I think he did a great job. warm weather (80's) so I can't vouch for the water resistance either. But when it gets cold outside, say into the 40s, condensation will

Great no frills lightweight shelter

This is a puppy tent with room for one plus gear. or two if you bet on each other. stayed warm and dry. First, the quickdraws and pegs need to be replaced. I used paracord and the cheap little aluminum pegs from Walmart that are hidden in the sporting goods in the trash can. The stakes and lines it comes with sucks. The leash is stretchy and flimsy, and the inserts are flimsy and cheap. I also sprayed the seams with caulk and sprayed the outside with tape for added waterproofing. But that'sโ€ฆ

LOST MONEY: Tents and Awnings

As an avid backpacker who has just started mountaineering, I was wrong when I thought this simple tent would be perfect for my upcoming trips. I quickly realized that this tent was literally useless. I installed it in the yard to make sure it works before the trip. I got it right, you really can't screw it up as it's such a simple design and the tab that runs along one side came loose right where it hits the ground. I didn't even go inside the tent and it wasn't too tight to break. Upon closerโ€ฆ

Not the Stansport gear I was familiar with before

Of course this tent is a cheap tent. But I was really shocked at how cheap it is. I had a tent like this a long time ago as a kid and it was a much better tent then than it is now. First, NONE of the seams are sealed. I pitched the tent and climbed in to check it out. Pinholes, pinholes and MORE pinholes. If you buy this tent and take it out raw, you'll get wet when it rains! Necessary! So I sealed all the seams with good sealant. Next comes the tent body. Not sure how waterproof it isโ€ฆ
