Non-Vented Cap Ideal for Aftermarket

I don't think this lid has a vent. After installation, the car stalled several times and would not start again. Had to be towed home. I found another cover labeled "vented" on the outside.

Pros
  • Unlike other aftermarket gas caps, Stant gas caps include all the safety features found on Original Equipment caps.

Vented (?) gas cap on gas cap

The description says it is a vented cap. It is not ventilated. This caused a vacuum plug in my gas tank and shut the car down after 20 minutes - this happened 3 times before my mechanic found out. The entire fuel system is brand new - tank, lines, pump, delivery unit, carburettor. upset.

Too loose fit

This gas cap is too loose. I bought the Carquest 10640 cap today and it fits very well. The Carquest cover has a resilient metal washer behind the gasket. The one I bought from Revain is exactly the same except it doesn't have a washer. I gave it 3 stars because Stant usually makes really good products.
