So easy to use, best in hard drive accessories

The HDD/SSD is very easy to install, solidly built and comes with a stylish carrying case. The only downside is that the display is tiny, but that's not enough to push the rating down to 4 stars.

Pros
  • Useful beyond its intended use
Cons
  • Low maintenance

GARBAGE! Bad connection that will damage and overheat the hard drive.

Came with a cheap, very NOT FLEXIBLE USB cable, the connector broke. I also ordered new high-quality cables, but the USB port in the device does not work. It has a bad connection and keeps disconnecting and reconnecting. And finally it overheats my hard drives. This cover allows you to see the temperature, it was always between 30ยบC and 40ยบC. It would be so hot that you could hardly touch the device.

Pros
  • Consistent Test Results
Cons
  • Interval

Make sure your data is absolutely safe.

I love these cases with encrypted discs. I carry patient files with me for my work. I need to make sure that if the drive is stolen or lost, no one can access the data, even if the drive is moved to a different enclosure. I really wish they would come out with a USB-C version. The form factor is perfect and the touch surface uses capacitive glass. I love it. I've used several cases that use hardware encryption and this is by far the best.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Minor issues

Native and slow

Windows encryption only. I thought it was hardware, meaning I only had to set it up on Windows, but it's the autorun that decrypts the drive. Also, I found it very difficult to use my fingerprint to unlock, and usually I had to enter the full password to decrypt it. Needless to say, this causes a lot of trouble if you use a long or random password. The software isn't without bugs either, requiring me to reset the drive (and data) more than a few times. Oddly enough, the included cable alsoโ€ฆ

Pros
  • A little above
Cons
  • No color required

Good case for encryption and access

This compact fingerprint case covers your hard drive and protects your data! Installation: The SSD is attached to the slide out internals with 2 tiny screws. Then I slide the assembly into the case and secure it with two more tiny screws of different sizes. The kit includes a magnetic screwdriver and 1 spare screw of each type. There is no physical lock. Usage: The enclosure uses the same connector type and data cable as many of my Seagate and Western Digital external hard drives. It's not asโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something
