Efficiently Connect USB Keyboards to PS/2 Ports: StarTech.com Replacement 💻 USB Keyboard to PS/2 Adapter, USB to PS2 Adapter - F/M (GC46FMKEY) Review

This is a suitable adapter for connecting a USB keyboard (wireless or wired) to a PS/2 port. Everything connected well as expected, but the keyboard was not recognized. I'm not sure if the adapter or something else is defective or incompatible.

I don't have many mice that I've tried it with. I was hoping to convert a 'modern' mouse for use with my old KVM switch, but it doesn't seem to be for this particular one. I'm hoping the trackball I have will work with it, but we'll see.

If you have a PC with a mouse and keyboard connected to PS/2, don't waste money trying to use them with this adapter to connect. The computer never recognized my mouse. The cursor arrow is frozen. Second, I reconnected the mouse's USB connector and the mouse worked. This product was a waste of money for me.

I read a review where others warned it didn't work. I thought it was worth six dollars and worth the risk. They've probably decided that most won't return it and they can easily make $6. Well, I was a victim too. But you don't have to.

So I chose this one to be able to install Windows 7 on my AM4 board's motherboard (Windows 7 installation CDs and USB sticks usually don't support the AM4 chipset, so the USB ports don't work) and this adapter allowed me to move through setting up and installing the necessary drivers for my windows 7 setup on my MSI 450 Gaming Plus mobo
