I used to use long VGA cables with no problems, but in this case I was trying to split and extend the VGA output from a small form factor PC at work and I think it did didn't come out enough Juice because I had bad ghosting with both a good quality VGA extension cable and VGA to RJ45 adapters with no Cat 5 power supply. I didn't want to spend $100 on this, but I did it as a last resort and it worked. I'm broadcasting 1280 x 1024 at about 20ft and yes there is a very small amount of ghosting but

VGA extender worked great

Worked great for extending the VGA monitor location on the server. It would be nice if the extension cord came with the cords. The transmitter has 2 female VGA connectors for 2 local monitors and a male on it. The extension cord connector connects to the computer. So don't forget to order a male to female cable. Most VGA monitor cables are male to male. The one that came with your monitor is most likely male to male. You need a category 5 or 6 cable to send video to the receiving end. The…

Don't forget to adjust EQ and Gain!

Installed two of these sets on 35ft CAT5 and they work great. REMEMBER TO ADJUST GAIN AND EQ, YOUR PICTURE WILL BE FAST IF YOU DON'T ADJUST THESE CONSUMERS. By default, the EQ and GAIN controls are set to zero; The picture will probably be dark if you don't adjust these pots. Luckily it doesn't take long, you might need to crank them up a bit before you get the brightness you want. The only thing I don't like about them is that they don't pass display information (EDID?) to the computer, so you

Great VGA Extender: Remote Extenders

I needed to run a second security VGA monitor about 75 feet from the main monitor. This extender uses standard CAT5 unshielded twisted pair network cable (should be a direct connection between two devices, not a connection to your LAN). I can't tell the difference between a local image and a remote image, so I'm very satisfied. The only odd thing is the manual appendix, which warns the user that both devices must be grounded to avoid static electricity build-up. I didn't have an easy way to…
