Helps with free motion quilting and ruler work.

I have been trying to learn free motion quilting and working with a ruler and I have found it very difficult to get the quilt to move. That slider made a big difference. It comes with a storage tube for safe storage when not in use. And it was way cheaper than the other brand everyone is talking about.

Beware! Do not use on old sewing machines!

The mat works - it provides a slippery surface that makes free motion quilting easier - so easy I didn't even have to use gloves. However, when I removed the mat, it peeled off the stickers on my old Singer 201-2 sewing machine. I was heartbroken as this car was in near perfect condition. He also removed some trim from the wooden cabinet. It goes well with the machine.

Pros
  • Solid construction
Cons
  • No instructions

In between FMQ sessions I've put it back on the provided liner but it's still losing its stickiness and I haven't used it much. It also broke into the hole. I can just drop it, sigh. I prefer my Supreme sliders more - they're expensive but can be upgraded with a quick wash and I have the smallest and it works well with large quilts too.

Match the hole on Notions

My friend warned me not to cut a hole large enough to replace the spool. Otherwise you will have to remove it to replace the coil. It's not easy to put it back on the substrate and put it back in the tube no matter what the video shows. This made the area very slippery to work in free movement. Now I am going to order a clear extension table as my feed switch is hidden under the tear off part of the table and to switch from straight stitching to free stitching I need to remove the green piece…

great idea, bad execution

I'm overlooking something, above all it doesn't fit my car. The opening prevents me from removing and replacing the spool without removing the stitch slide, so I cut out a larger hole. The edge of the rug prevented my fabric from moving and so the threads got stuck and tangled. It might work fine on Bernina, but it definitely won't work on Janome 6600. There should be more information in the description about which machines it's likely to work on. I love the idea but hate the materials. The…
