I agree with others that each mic has a different volume, so you can't easily compare two mics. You either have to swap them back and forth and compare again, or I used two of these at each point so I can compare the two without having to do another test run. Works as described. The set in the form in which it was purchased is very convenient. It takes a bit of effort to connect the cables, write everything down, route the cables, then pick up the drive and repeat as necessary. But if you need to find the source of the noise, this really is the best way. The earcups fold out so you can hold an earbud to your ear and listen without wearing the earbuds.
