Best Quality Ping Pong Balls

Stiga 3-star balls: Best balls you can get, matched in quality only by Butterfly, in my opinion. I prefer the Stiga balls though, because I find the Butterfly logo to be too stark and distracting while the ball is spinning. Packaging and shipping were good as my set of balls arrived in good order.

Pros
  • Perfect for hands of all sizes
Cons
  • May not be suitable for players with certain phobias

Good weight, durable, and long lasting

I'm glad I ordered these! I risked on the name because of a quality ping pong table bearing the same name, Stiga -- The table looked good, so I figured the balls would be of comparable quality. They are. I've used the same ball for outdoor play in the garage for weeks and they've taken some hard use (dogs chasing, kids hitting hard, etc). Didn't want a heavy duty ball that hindered play. VERY pleased with the quality.

Pros
  • Balls
Cons
  • Can be easily lost or stolen by others

3-Star Superior-Quality Orange Table Tennis Balls 6-Pack)

+1 - Item arrived on time, and not damaged+1 - Item is as described+3 - Nice ping pong balls with good bounce and visibilityThoughts: These have good bounce and spin, and are much easier to see than white ping pong balls.

Pros
  • REGULATION SIZE & WEIGHT – Includes 6 (white) STIGA 3-star (40mm) ITTF regulation size and weight table tennis balls.
Cons
  • Not recommended for casual players

Can't go wrong best in my review

The only ball I play with. Recreational but daily about four games against a opponent with matching skills, so the ball still can get a beating. They perform well and take a beating well.

Pros
  • Very nice balls. More for playing pong with. If your looking for beer pong balls look for the 1 stars.
Cons
  • Can become dirty or discolored easily

For my cat, not ping pong, don't laugh.

I actually bought these as a toy for my cat to chase around our house (hardwood floors). I also put one of these in an emptied tissue box (he can see the ball through the plastic screen on top). It's a blast! He'll bat the box and stick his paw in it to get the ball out. I bought these over cheaper alternatives since they bounce and run across the floor great and are durable.

Pros
  • Perfect weight and size for optimal gameplay
Cons
  • May not be suitable for players with sensory issues

3 stars don't really tell much

These 3 Star Stigar balls are lighter compared to some other brands. They bounce lower too. Not good even for a entertainment game. Good balls are heavier and feel solid, with average weight around 2.7 grams (+/- 0.03 g). Strangely most of the brands sold on Best Buy do not show the ball's weight, just the weight of the package at most. It seems to me the weight of balls is the most important thing I'm looking at when I guy ping pong balls, not who made it. I've been purchasing DHS, double fish

Pros
  • Enhances skills and ability for players of all levels
Cons
  • May not be suitable for players with certain preferences

3 star tennis ball on my review.

These balls I bought for recreational uses.I picked them up from amazon for cheap and will be used for recreationalplaying with friends on weekends.I'd consider it good for the price I paid.cannot comment on durability as yet but the sound and the bouncefrom the ball is good.

Pros
  • Dry easy to see and they last really long
Cons
  • Can be easily lost or misplaced

Professional tt balls !

Very good quality tt balls. Had a professional practice for 3 hours and they had real good bounce and nice feeling as if we played with tournament tt balls. Definitely would recommend this product.

Pros
  • Starts to spin slower over time giving advanced players a strategic challenge
Cons
  • May interfere with other sports or activities being played nearby

Poor quality good for me

Two of the 6 balls cracked after just a few hours play - very disappointed with the quality. Performance is worst than the practice balls - not worth the money.

Pros
  • Widely used in competitions and tournaments across the world
Cons
  • May not be suitable for players with certain disabilities

Tbh it seems like those are not standard

At the first moment it felt heavier than standard stiga ball, so I checked: 2.82 grams. Standard ball should be between 2.67 to 2.77. That's not horrible, but definetly changes the game dynamic.

Pros
  • Was wanting yellow, even thought i had read they were yellow to find out they were orange.
Cons
  • Expensive compared to other table tennis balls

They are okay: my feedback

I am not too thrilled with these balls. They are fine but I would like more than a three star ball. These balls lose their sturdiness very soon. We do play a lot like three times a week and are serious players. Not like Stiga I am used to.

Pros
  • Good value for the price
Cons
  • Not suitable for playing in extreme temperatures

The best bang for your buck

Stiga is a ball brand you can trust. It’s is the mid-tier of table tennis balls. Definitely can’t compare to Yasaka, Donic, Butterfly and Nittaku table tennis balls. Don’t settle for the off brand Walmart balls for $.99 cents. Do yourself a favor and pick these up instead if you’re playing table tennis.

Pros
  • Love these balls.
Cons
  • I was sent used balls in opened package. Terrible!!

Great customer service

We bought these table tennis balls and one was crushed during shipping. Best Buy quickly replaced same. We are very happy with. our new Tiga balls! Thanks so much! Theo

Pros
  • Official tournament-grade quality
Cons
  • Not suitable for players with certain playing styles

Worth the extra money for mid-level play?

I got these in addition to the same make (one-star) for when we have ping-pong tournaments. Honestly, I don't think they're that much better. I'm a good player, have a nice paddle, and play with speed and spin, and the 38-pack one-star pack is a much better value, especially if you aren't playing on a semi-pro level.

Pros
  • Can endure high-intensity play without losing quality
Cons
  • May not be suitable for players with certain skill levels

Best table tennis balls for recreational use

Vibrant, contrasting color makes these balls easy to see. Regulation size, weight, etc. Very hard plastic, these are hard to break unless it's intentional. If you're serious about table tennis, don't buy anything less than 3-star balls, the difference is VERY noticeable from 1 and 2 stars. I highly recommend these orange Stiga 3-star balls, I don't practice or play with anything else.

Pros
  • nice quality balls, I still prefer the butterfly 40+
Cons
  • Not ideal for outdoor use

Our favorite good for me

Best we've found for the price. Bounce well, with consistent bounce between all of them. Wish we'd bought orange, because these are hard to see against the white walls and ceiling of the community center's ping pong room. We ended up giving this set to a charity and buying the orange in this brand.

Pros
  • Gd
Cons
  • This is not seamless ping pong ball. Looks heavier and uneven bounce

very good! for my opinion

Excellent table tennis balls! Tournament quality, good lifespan, color, feel, size, bounce. I buy these or Joola balls, depending on price, since they (and other 3 star balls from familiar manufacturers) are basically equivalent in quality. UPDATE: I bought a second set, and for some reason (out of stock?) Best Buy replaced my order with PING PONG BRAND balls. My hope was that these would be ok, no such luck. Played with these just one day, one ball broke cleanly in half, the others play…

Pros
  • USATT APPROVED TOURNAMENT QUALITY – Crafted for the highest performance available, these 3-star table tennis balls excel at tournament play.
Cons
  • Not suitable for playing in small spaces

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fine table tennis balls

On the advice of a friend who is a serious table tennis player, I decided to try some 3-star table tennis balls. These were reasonably priced, so they fit the bill. They're a little heavier than 1-star balls, so you have to hit a little harder, but it allows you to get more spin without the ball going farther than you want it to. They're worth a try if you play often.

Pros
  • MULTI-BALL PACK – This multi-pack is perfect for tournaments, practice, parties, clubs, or serious family competition.
Cons
  • Can be distracting or irritating to some players

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for competitive play

If you play much at all you can really tell a difference in the 3-star vs. the 1-star balls. Our local stores stopped selling these so we ordered online and they are just as expected. If you have your own paddle or play more than about once a week you should have these balls.

Pros
  • Seamless design avoids seams that can affect gameplay
Cons
  • May not be suitable for children under a certain age

Revainrating 4 out of 5

As advertised best in my review

They are orange, showed up on time and work as any 3-star ball would. Not sure how to describe it but they sound kinda clanky and bounces a little higher than a 5-star ball. But these do what they are supposed to do, great value for the money.

Pros
  • Bright white color for easy tracking and visibility
Cons
  • Not suitable for playing on certain surfaces
