They continue to work and show reasonable accuracy.

They continue to work and give fairly accurate readings when heated. The only problem is that they don't go below 100 even if it wasn't on fire at the time.

Not So Reliable Best in Thermometers and Timers

I purchased this item along with another thermometer that was twice the price. This one shows a different temperature than the other and seems underestimated compared to being close to the fire. Also, the temperature gauge and spring hang from the back of the device. buy returns

  • Annual Trial

Looks high quality

So far so good. Looks like decent quality. I love the idea of having a magnet. The magnet sticks well to the drum, but (of course) not to an aluminum exhaust pipe. I didn't have a chance to check the validity of the temperature. --- Will be updated when it's done.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Looks great for the kitchen and dining room

This is a good stovepipe thermometer, we like the silver colour. It goes very well with our stove, and while I'm not sure how accurate it is (we never burn in the "Best" range, even on a raging fire), it gives us an idea of when to turn on the fan need and when to close the flap. The F indicator is on the inside and the C on the outer ring. We don't pay much attention to the actual number, just observing the up and down pattern. A good gauge, but I'm not sure of the accuracy.
