Stromberg Carlson LG-196308 High-Performance Motor, 6,500 Lb Load Capacity, 5,430 RPM Review

I wasn't impressed. The wiring polarity is reversed. I had to redo it to make it work properly. Then the fuse blew. The predecessor did not have such problems. Stop making parts in China.

UPDATE Motor died after about 10 uses, won't buy again. I received this motor today and the first thing I noticed was that the copper wiring appeared to be corroded. Cut it off about 3 inches and it still has some corrosion in it. The engine installed in 5 minutes works very well. I have a feeling there may be some wiring issues in the future.

I bought this motor to replace the standard Venture M-9000-PK 12vdc 30amp motor on my broken toy dump truck. Unfortunately I postponed the engine change until the end of winter, swapped it out before the trip a few weeks ago, did a little test and worked fine, but as soon as I got to my destination the engine died when the hitch was raised. The return period has already expired so I lost $127 and am hoping to find a better quality one.

I ordered this motor as it was described as being robust compared to another similar model. The first problem was that the polarity was reversed, so the extension and retraction was reversed, which I can't work with. However, the engine burns out when you try to lift the trailer. Bad quality and waste of time. I have lubricated all the gears and replaced the gearbox and the engine runs fine with no load so I believe the problem is with the engine and not the chassis or gearbox.

My stock motor worked fine though. I bought a heavy duty motor because I figured the extra load capacity wouldn't put as much strain on the motor. The first blew the built in 30 amp fuse as soon as I pressed the extend button (which actually retracts on this motor wired backwards). I switched to a 40 amp fuse which also blew immediately. Send it back for an exchange and it performed less than the original and was only retracted and not raised. At least the fuses aren't blown, but still not…

Ordered this at risk as I wasn't sure if it would fit as a replacement for my 2006 Keystone Montana but as the original didn't work I had to try something because that turning the landing gear manually quickly became obsolete. It worked great, was easy to install, fit perfectly and had a strong motor at a good price. Revain Prime is also great for car rides. One quick comment, I don't know why, but this motor runs backwards compared to the OME, so I have to press stow to deploy the boarding…

One of the jack motors that came with Atwood jacks on my 1997 Lance camper failed. I faced a $4,000 bill to upgrade to a brand new set of 4 bushings. and the need to adapt them as they can no longer buy parts or even a brand new lift suitable for pre-2019 Lance campers. That's cool. I have a Cyclone 3912 who who knows knows the chassis they put on this (and other models) is pretty poorly designed. The old gearbox (Venture) was plastic and like everyone else who came across it, sooner or later one of the plastic latches broke off.
