Do not use for free-standing lace designs

This product is not intended for free-standing lace embroidery designs. It's not thick or strong enough to hold on to. It didn't stick together. According to the description it is twice as thick, heavier and stronger than the original Sulky Solvy. It can be used (and is good) as a stabilizer on the material to prevent the thread from sinking into the material. I prefer Sulky Ultra Solvy. I only gave it three because I think the description is misleading.

Great embroidery product

I bought this to use with my Brother PE770 and I love this product. It gives me a professional finish every time I use it over my design. I can usually remove the access stabilizer when I'm done and then blot the areas where I can still see the stabilizer with a damp cloth. Of course, the embroidered thing can be washed, but I don't usually wash things before giving them to the buyer. Great for thread baskets

I don't embroider so just tried it on a thread bowl for the first time. (Wendy Hill's Incredible Thread-a-Bowls) The instructions for some of the bowls called for a coat of Super Solvy and Ultra Solvy. But when I saw the prices I decided to just take Super Solvy and try two coats. It worked great. I don't know why the author of the thread bowl requires both, it wasn't explained.
