Will not be effective for fine adjustments like taping. But other 1 7/16 " sockets will fit

Head is new but will not fit the end of the head. I have a set of taps with me Hex head of this faucet is 1 7/16". When I put a faucet in it, it has a very loose fit. Will not be effective for fine adjustments like taping. However, other types of 1 7/16" outlets will also work.
