Description of SwaddleDesigns Transitional Swaddle Half Length Heathered

100% Cotton. Imported. THE IDEAL TRANSITIONAL SWADDLE. LITTLE SLEEVES with BIG PURPOSE. When parents close the mitten cuffs on the 1/2-length sleeves, the uniquely-shaped sleeves will provide partial suppression of the Moro (Startle) Reflex, and if baby rolls over on to tummy, baby can use their arms to lift upper body and reposition head to get access to air, which makes the TRANSITIONAL SWADDLE SACK a SAFER SLEEP OPTION. THE TRANSITIONAL SWADDLE SACK IS DESIGNED TO BRIDGE THE GAP FROM SWADDLING TO WEARABLE BLANKET. When baby is ready to transition from a swaddle, but not ready for a sleeveless wearable blanket, the Swaddle Sack is a great option to (1) keep baby snug and warm, (2) allow baby the use of his or her arms, and (3) allow baby to self-soothe by sucking on his or her hands. FOLDOVER MITTEN CUFFS MAY BE WORN OPEN OR CLOSED, parents can open the cuffs, so baby can SELF-SOOTHE, or close the cuffs to PROTECT BABY FROM FACIAL SCRATCHES. UNIQUELY SHAPED ARMS UP HALF-LENGTH SLEEVES with mitten cuffs will keep baby's arms close to body, but within reach of mouth. THE TRANSITIONAL SWADDLE SACK IS PERFECT FOR BABIES WHO PREFER TO SLEEP WITH ARMS UP. Swaddle Sack supports baby in a back sleeping position, allowing for multiple arm and hand positions to help baby sleep better. INNOVATIVE 2-way zipper. Premium Cotton Knit. Small 6-14 lbs, 0-3 months; Medium 14-21 lbs, 3-6 months. US Patent D833,613.

She's lulling herself!

love! She rocks in it! She lies in it before bed, wipes her face with her sleeves closed, and falls asleep herself! She no longer scratches her face when she falls asleep (which helps her stay awake!). She hates swaddling but loves it because she can move her arms. We will buy more!

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Can I add anything?

Lightweight nappy that helps your baby sleep longer

If your newborn gets too warm in a regular nappy, it's made of a lightweight material that won't overheat your baby. I was hoping sleeping in my bassinet would help, but it allows for too much exercise and he can still wake up scared. However, he sleeps comfortably on his back and sleeps longer! So this diaper is my victory!

My baby loves it good for changing blankets

Bought to take my baby out of the diaper and the swing. He always slept in a swing, but when he was 5 months old I wanted to move him to a cot. Miraculously, he stays up all night, which I didn't expect. However, for the last 2 days he has been able to calm down in his bed and fall asleep in this sleeping bag without having to rock. He looks calm and confident when I pull him closed. It helped us avoid unnecessary crying.

Pros
  • understandable for old people
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Works fabulous! for swaddle blankets

Up to 5 months our baby was swaddled in a diaper with a zipper and inside handles. However, it has outgrown a zippered wrap and is approaching the rollover (which is unacceptable in a zippered wrap with hands tucked inside). So we looked for a "transitional" diaper. That's great. Snuggly enough to help him fall asleep (12 hours straight throughout the night) but allows him to use his hands, which helps him calm down and fall asleep again easily. We LOVE that he has the option to cover his hands

Uncomfortable shape: blankets and diapers

I don't understand half the sleeves. If you close the cuffs of their mittens, their arms are crooked and they can't stretch them very far in their sleep if they want to. But when you uncuff the handcuffs, half your arm is exposed, not just your hands, and you get cold. And no, long-sleeved pajamas underneath won't help because they bunch up under the wrap sleeves. I also don't understand the weird U-cut of the sleeves - yes, it allows you to sleep with your arms raised (if the cuffs are open so

Nothing for chubby children!

I bought the medium for my 8 week old baby because it is time to stop swaddling. My son has never slept better. I saw that others had typos, but I barely had time to unzip. He's a little stocky but it says 14-21 lbs. It was so tight around his waist it left marks. The arms are too short. I couldn't even cross my arms over his, he had to wear mittens that night (for warmth). The neck is too tight and I considered unbuckling it before pulling it out in the middle of the night. Which woke him up…

Great transitional sleeper

Bought for my 5 month old who started turning over in bed. We used the diaper bag with our arms outstretched, but he made a fuss before bed and distracted himself by waving his arms. The first few times we used the SwaddleDesigns sack, he rolled onto his stomach and fell asleep. I wasn't thrilled that he slept on his stomach, but he went from a 30 minute nap to an hour and a half. Now he has turned to sleep on his side and is sleeping perfectly. When he falls asleep, his hands still move, but…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
