Acceptable performance with a slight hiccup.

My USB3 devices are connected to this device BUT I cannot boot my Server 2008 when the devices are enabled. My USB3 external hard drive needs to be powered off to boot properly. Other than that, I'm happy with my purchase.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Only available in black

great product - Well, not like that.

works very well and is easy to assemble. Just make sure you're using the drivers that come with the package. Win 7 does not recognize the adapter, so you must use the CD that came with it. TO EDIT. Windows does not recognize the hard drive when you restart your computer. I have to disconnect and reconnect the USB cable for Windows to recognize it. I know it's the card because when I plug the cable into a regular USB 2.0 port it works fine, so it's either the card or the drivers. I tried…

Works great with Win2008 R2

I bought this to add to an HP ML110 G7 server running Windows 2008 R2 64-bit server OS which I have for SMB provided so I can quickly perform backups on external USB3 drive. It worked fine, although I had to load an included drive (pretty normal). Hopefully, over time, all new PCs/servers/laptops will be equipped with USB3 as the data volume grows and the 25Mb speed of USB2 becomes obsolete for large amounts of data.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other options

Amazing speed, great customer service!

Great map. The speed was really amazing, this wasn't my first rodeo with extra USB3 cards. All my other cards don't have the bandwidth (same motherboard, same slot) as this VIA based card from Syba. Until last month there were no problems with USB 3 or USB 2.0 devices. One of the rear ports failed and did not detect a device attached to that port. However, I went to their website and requested an RMA. All I can say is that they have an efficient RMA process and excellent customer service. Now…

USB 3.0 PCI-E to I/O Port Cards

Not very happy here, this card came as a 4-pin Molex power connector, NOT a SATA power connector as shown in the picture and advert . I can buy an adapter but the whole idea was not to need one. I hope they fix this so others aren't disappointed either.

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Crumpled

Not recognized by Windows and no drivers are present

Windows 7 is not recognized. There is no driver disk included. Syba web page for "Page not found" driver. Nothing on the Etron website either. I asked a question on the Revain site and some very helpful people directed me to drivers for another card that fits this one. Works well with installed. Also look at the internal port where I can connect the front USB 3.0 port. Hence 2 stars because it's not out of the box and has poor support, but it can be made to work well. PS: Linux Mint recognizes…
