ARANA Truck Tailgate Assist Shock Strut Kit Compatible with Ram 1500 (2009-2018), 1500 PICKUP CLASSIC (2019-2020, Excluding New Version), Ram 2500/3500 (2010-2019) Review

I install many items for my work, the installation took about 30 minutes on my 2016 Laramie. Worked great for a while, withstood about 10-15 trunk opens, the end of the shock attached to the trunk broke. I was very surprised after the reviews. I will not buy again!

Just wanted to say this product works great. The price was great. The installation was explained very well and took a maximum of 10 minutes. The product works great as this damper just allows the tailgate to slide down very slowly. Definitely 5 stars. It's great to find an incredible product at Revain. Thank you Andre.

Nutsert didn't open initially. Continued rotation after proper installation after step 1. Installation after tightening the nut, not using the hex wrench on the nut. The instructions were not entirely correct. But followed the rest and was able to install perfectly after leaving the item since December 2021.

Installation was easy and works but a few days later when I opened the door I saw the cable was stuck behind the piston. This has already damaged the mylar and started to damage the cable coating. I lowered the counterweight from the recommended spot to about level with the bottom of the flask and pinned it. It seems to keep the cable from running behind the plunger when I close the tailgate.

Read other reviews and was ready for a hard to install screw. And it was a little difficult, but thanks to the advice of others, it dragged on well. Aside from that one screw, installation is very easy. And she does what she has to. I don't have to worry about the tailgate falling down hard. It descends at perfect speed and very smoothly. And when I close the tailgate, there is no problem.

Instructions could be better. The position of the plastic anti-trap socket was misleading from the instructions, but was fine-tuned after a few tries and a pinch. The alignment of the shock absorber needs to be set correctly, otherwise the OE wire bracket will get pinched or stuck behind the shock absorber and you will not be able to fully open the tailgate, again the instruction on this part was not clear. Ram 1500 Installation 2017 Good upgrade. Very easy to install. Prevents the tailgate from falling down when opening. After installation, the gate has a pleasantly smooth lowering without the use of hands. Installation was pretty easy. I chose to remove the standard cable guide washer. 1 month later: It's broken! Bolt. removed when rear of tailgate and pillar show heavy wear from minimal use. I'll try and return to Revain. Tip: It's better to spend a little more and buy a quality product, not this junk! The tailgate assist works well, but the instructions are sorely lacking.
