🎥 TDK Premium Quality VHS T-160 Video Tapes, 8-hour (Pack of 6) Review

that I use to record. I ran into 1 tape that didn't work properly but may not be from this pack. This is a good recording tape.

The product was defective. They turned out to be old reusable cartridges, some with melted or damaged tabs preventing recording. On several computers, the tape hangs, then freezes and ejects within seconds. Putting tape on the damaged tabs helped and some of the tape was usable, but some I had to throw away. I have sent the data to the company.

I think that due to the fact that these tapes were probably made some time ago, the quality of some new tapes has dropped, in particular the sound of some tapes is a bit muffled during playback. Nothing too serious though, and as a still avid VCR user, I was so grateful I ordered them just ahead of the 2016 Summer Olympics and was able to record whatever I wanted to watch! We bought TDK cassettes because they have an 8 hour capacity. After trying to use the first 4 cassettes, 3 out of 4 didn't record or play back after recording. We have not tried the other 2 bands in the 6 pack at the time of writing this review. The previous cassettes we used, the Sony 6 hour cassettes, still work after 3 years of use.

I'm buying these for a mate who's still stuck in the analog world. He lives in the country, is disabled and does not use the internet. He is very happy about this, but reports that about half of the tapes don't work and she throws them away. Because I buy them whenever I can, sometimes it takes me more than 3 months to know some of them are bad. So we just don't have any money. It's still nice to make an old friend happy.
