I used this for soap making to check base temps but my grandson also uses it to check ambient temps of car fluids and brakes .

Only 4 stars because it didn't work when I unpacked it. I had to hit him with my palm and then he started to work. Seems pretty accurate.

Works as advertised, bought this specifically for my new Blackstone pan to even out the surface temperature across the pan, it helps me with that.

I use this thing to check the temperature of the pan, the grill, even the fridge. It seems to coincide with other thermometers (within a few degrees). Pretty handy to have on hand.

when i tried to use this product there was no reading after i checked 3 digits. An error message came up that didn't go away even after disconnecting the battery. There was no troubleshooting guide to see what I could do.

I used it three times and then it failed. The display panel (when it was working) showed incorrect readings: it was -49F on my living room wall; The surface of my Zimmer Hepp filter was 667°C. I swapped the battery and nothing changed. It's time to return the item. Totally dissatisfied with this product. I do not recommend you to buy this item.
