Description of Terracotta Sprouter With 4 Tiers By GEO Terradisiena

Food-Safe Terracotta: Born from the art and expertise of Italian craftsmen, the natural food-grade terracotta clay enhances maintenance of a moist environment for growing all kinds of sprouts and microgreens. The terracotta clay keeps your sprouts hydrated, ventilated, and cool— therefore requiring less water. Its beautiful design looks great in any decor. Innovative Stacking System: Space the trays individually to create a dark and damp environment, or allow air and light into the trays. Night & Day Sprouting Options: It's your choice! Stack up each bowl to create a dark and damp environment or rotate the bowls to allow air and light in. Measures approximately 7" wide and 11" at full height. Easy Sprout Cultivation: 1. Soak the seeds according to the package instructions. 2. Rinse the soaked seeds under running water. 3. Distribute the seeds evenly in the bowls. 4. Place the germination tower in a warm place without direct sunlight. 5. Water or spray several times a day as instructed. Depending on the seed, germination may complete after a few days. Made in Italy

Beautiful but set your expectations

I knew it would be kind of risky purchasing something like this online where it had to be shipped to me from far away, but considering all of that, it arrived in better condition than I anticipated. It was packaged well where each layer had a layer of thick cardboard in between with custom cutouts for the tray's "feet." The "foot" part that chipped (as shown in the pictures) did so because it was slotted through the packaging divider which meant that it touched the other terracotta layer below…

Pros
  • Very cool, they work beautifully!!
Cons
  • Very fragile; prone to breaking easily

Great quality! - my new review

I got this to grow some microgreens and it's worked great! I was worried it would arrive broken but it came in 100% perfect conditions! I'll probably order more in the future!

Pros
  • Easy to clean and maintain, with no need for special equipment or cleaning products
Cons
  • May not be as environmentally friendly as other sprouting options, as terracotta production can use a lot of energy and resources

Great to be plastic free

Attractive looking and highly functional little indoor sprout garden. Enables one to either block the sunlight or allow it in as needed during the sprouting cycle.

Pros
  • Made in Italy
Cons
  • May not fit in all kitchen spaces due to its size and shape

MOULDY SPROUTS, BAD DRAINAGE

I was very hopeful when I bought this because I hate using plastic in any form. The problem with this sprouter is that there aren't a lot of holes in the bottom of each pan, this the roots grow inside the pan itself, hold a lot of mositure and turn black. On around day 4 I found mouldy sprouts, which are very dangerous to eat, so I threw out the whole batch. Maybe it's the fact that I live in a pretty hot and humid place, but I think the design is flawed: the holes in the bottom need to be…

Pros
  • Affordable and cost-effective, offering great value for money
Cons
  • Cannot be used for sprouting microgreens or other delicate greens

It’s ok but a raw clay plate or saucer works better

I have 4 raw clay 7.5 plates I was using before I bought this and I actually like them better. The Geo is smaller and the drain holes can be a pain. Plus the feet, are delicate. Here are a few suggestions to make the most out of these. 1. Line it will a coffee filter for small seeds or only use it for larger seeds. 2. If you aren’t going to use a coffee filter get a tool to make it easier to clean the drain holes. The plus is that it looks nice and takes up little to no counter space and it does…

Pros
  • A great way to incorporate healthy, fresh sprouts into your diet
Cons
  • May not be sturdy enough for rough handling or accidental drops
