I have a high instep or "high" feet. Velcro that crosses the middle of the foot is not suitable for this. In the photo the strap is fully closed but when I tried velcro it only lasted about an inch. The strap is long enough, only the Velcro does not cover the entire strap and does not reach. I would completely collapse on the trip. I had to go back. Shame as otherwise it looked like a great shoe.

This is my perfect shoe. I have 10 pairs of these and wear them on hikes, in the garden, wear them as sandals with dresses, wear them every day. I wear at least one pair every year. They replace my green pair who literally lost their stride after 3 years on the trails of Glacier National Park! They're comfortable out of the box - you won't have to live with blisters or break-in sores - each size is adjustable for the perfect fit. Teve better keep going!

First of all I've never owned a pair of Teva style water/sports sandals, only cheap mesh slippers with no laces (think big store for 7.99). Are planning a cruise later this year with waterfall hikes etc. My daughter recommended Teva. When they arrived they were a bit stiff and I almost returned them but held back. I always wear a 7.5/8 in women's shoes and usually prefer an 8 in sandals so my toes don't get too close to the edge. This brown color with mid shape style is so cute! I have a pair of original Teva flat sandals that are over 15 years old. I've worn them for years and they hold up like champions. Only slight signs of wear. Tevas are great all round sandals. I have big feet (tennis shoe size 10). My only criticism of the original sandals is the flat sole, which makes my feet look a bit like fins.
